THIS IS WHY POLITICIANS SHOULDN’T BE IN CHARGE

So new employment laws, apparently coming into effect within two years, will enable employees rights from day one!!! We are becoming a country of litigation, following America, look how well that goes. Long, drawn out court cases and basically everyone loses because the amount awards are unsustainable for businesses and government alike.

What happened to the six-month probationary period? It works for both parties. The employer assesses whether the candidate is fit for the job and the employee can judge whether the job is for them. No fault dismissals are not something to be ashamed of and in the majority of cases it works out for the best. The employer can find a more suitable candidate and the employee can change direction.

But the Labour Government is determined to undermine employees across the country. Small independent companies employing less than five people to large conglomerates employing thousands. These companies, these employers will be shutting their doors. Frightened to actually employ anyone, should they decide to take them to court for some imagined slight.

Our young people already believe they are worth more than they are. High salaries come with experience and time. No teenager should be leaving school and demanding salaries over £15k. No graduate should expect more than £25k as a starting figure. When they’ve had some experience of doing a job, perfecting it along the way and contributing to the company’s revenue, reputation and marketing, then they can “demand” (too strong really) higher salaries.

This is exactly why politicians should not be in charge, they have no bloody idea of the real world. Industry is made up of determined, innovative men and women – politicians are neither of those things. Usually backgrounds of law, banking, marketing (nice way of describing long lunches, smoozing with potential clients, not working).

So when they are debating these new employment laws, if they don’t take on top industrialists to determine which are feasible and which are not, then they should be shot, and that’s putting it mildly. These idiots are going to be the death of industry in this country, but they are so up their own backsides they can’t see it.

Please write to your MP reminding them of exactly who they are – not industrialists, not innovative and they definitely don’t have good reputations – they should be consulting with those who have all these qualities.
