So fuel bills are going up 10%, and other 5p fuel duty per litre when you fill your car, no doubt fares will go up in January by some stupid amount, food is not coming down, so how does the average Joe survive?
We need food, we need to pay our energy bills, we need to travel, more so in cars because the public transport system is really not fit for purpose. Late, dirty, crowded and too expensive. Not my idea of travelling.
How the hell does a father/mother of 2, paying rent or a mortgage afford to fill his/her car at between £70 and £100 a time, and still feed his/her kids and pay gas, electricity, water, council tax, insurances? Actually he/she doesn’t, so something has to go, usually food to start with, then turning down the heating, then not being able to pay the insurance on the house, car, life. When that happens you can bet your bottom dollar something awful will happen. What then? No insurance, no payout to make sure things can be replaced or rebuilt. Because that happens other bills go down the drain and eventually they get evicted from their home or have it repossessed. A family homeless is more of a drain on society because of the immediate need to rehome.
So how about not puting up fuel, not increasing the fuel duty on petrol, not allowing insurance companies to increase their premiums by huge amounts. Mine quoted £750 building and contents premium for this year!!! WTF, we looked around and got it £400 cheaper with the same policy. So why can’t the government see that they need to let the average Joe, a working man/woman trying to pay all the bills, keeping the wolf from the door actually achieve that. Then they don’t have to ask the state for anything, and believe me if you’re working you don’t want to have to ask the state for anything. Its only those lazy buggers who can’t be bothered to get out to work who actually know every benefit their entitled to and claim them, whether they need them or not.
Remember, if you have children under the age of 5, the fuel companies CANNOT cut you off. They now, by law, have to work out easy payment plans for you. If you are over 70, they CANNOT cut you off. If you are of pensionable age, look to see if you can claim Pension Credit, and you won’t then lose the Winter Fuel Payment.
Don’t let this government drive you into poverty. Make sure you know your rights as a working parent. Don’t let the scum in this country claim what you’re entitled to. You see it in every street, there’s always at least 1 family claiming for everything, sitting on their arses watching huge televisions, kids running around in designer trainers, all have Iphones and Ipads. Why is this allowed to happen? Because they know how to play the system, even if they’ve never paid a penny into it and every government has done nothing to stop it.
As my father told me when I left school, and I told him he was a cynical bastard (he was a Police Officer in the Met) – “Don’t trust anyone” and “Don’t let the bastards grind you down”. I thought at 17 he was going too far, but over the years I understand he was right. So DON’T TRUST ANYONE and DON’T LET THE BASTARDS GRIND YOU DOWN.
