I’m sure there are millions of people out there who are geared up for the Olympics, but I’m not and never have been. I hate exercise of all kinds and don’t see the point of getting hot and sweaty doing something I really don’t enjoy. Plus everytime I turn on the TV it’s bloody sport of some kind – not interested.

What’s with running – jiggling your internal organs about for what? Being out of breath? No thank you.

Anyway for everyone that is excited about the up and coming games, perhaps you’d find it alot more interesting if it was organised in the same style as the ancient Greek games, the original Olympics (on Mount Olympia).

Not only did competitors have to be good at a sport, but also to add some finnese to the whole proceedings – art (can you paint or draw), poetry (real poetry not rude ditties). That added skill would put a whole different slant on things. Also, because women were not allowed to partake, the competitors performed naked. Now that may be interesting, but once you’ve seen one naked body, everyone else is very much the same!

Actually, to save the country hosting bankrupting themselves, all Olypmic games should be held in Greece as near to the original site as possible. Now that would be interesting and limit the numbers representing countries.

Countries at war or causing disruption throughout the world would be instantly barred, so Russia, Palestine, Israel, China, Iran, Yemen would all be banned. The games were originally devolved to settle disputes, so as these countries are already in dispute with most of the rest of the world – banned.

Hopefully, for those wanting to see the various sports – hope it didn’t cost you a fortune – hope you get there safely and your hotel or accommodation isn’t overrun with bedbugs – and if it is don’t bring them back here.

You may also feel some resentment from the Parisians, who are pissed off about their lives being totally disrupted by the whole procedure, and justifyably so. In fact so much so, that they’ve been setting fire the Eurostar train lines!!! Bit drastic, but with the French anything goes.
